After meeting up with the teacher, we are so happy that Elyse does not only enjoys schooling, she's also doing well in her study. It is indeed a joy to see her mastering her ABCs and learning to read better. In fact, she's one of the top student in the class. And she is now reading the Ladybird Series: Peter & Jane 5a. The same book was read by Andrew when he was 5 years old but Elyse is reading at the age of 4!
Mrs Siew, her class teacher, commended her to be the 'most obedient' student in the class (25 students) and in her 12 years of teaching.
We were even more surprised to find out that Elyse won the 3rd place in the colouring contest! She dislike colouring. She does not have the patience to colour slowly, making sure it is within the line.
The only set back is she's still struggling with her Bahasa and Mandarin.
Two weeks ago Mrs Siew rewarded Elyse with a sticker. She came home beaming from ear to ear, eagerly waiting to show off her new present to Mommy and Daddy. But Elyse couldn't find it when she looked through her school bag. She was so upset. She cried. It broke our hearts seeing her immense disappointment and heartache. The next morning we checked with the teacher and later Mrs Siew found out that another student has taken Elyse's sticker from her bag without her knowing. The teacher compensated her with 4 cute smiley faces erasers. And she's a happy girl again!
Elyse loves to do her homework. And her little brother loves to follow what his jie jie does. When jie jie does her writing, di di also wants to do the same.
