Well Done!

After reading the Bible with Elyse, she flipped through the pages by herself.  Suddenly a picture caught her attention and she said:" Daddy, Daddy (excitedly), this is the story you tell us on Sunday!"

Yes, indeed.  Last Sunday, Andrew preached about praising God even during difficult circumstances.  Well, many may thought that this is a common topic and there's nothing great to shout about.  That's exactly how I felt and what I thought when I helped Andrew with the power point slides.  But amazingly, Andrew shared an anointed sermon which touched many lives, including mine!  To be honest, I seldom give uplifting comments when it comes to his preaching.  Perhaps, my expectation is higher.  Perhaps, in the midst of praises, I choose to be the one that give constructive criticism.  Well done, dear!  Of course, all glory belongs to God!

Back to our darling.  I brought Elyse to the 3rd Service after the Sunday School last week.  Although she doesn't seem to enjoy sitting through the service and doing nothing, I have told her plainly that, "Just now Mummy went with you to the Sunday School, now you come with me to the adult's service."  Unlike other children, Elyse does not seem to enjoy colouring very much.  I used to bring for her story books or other acitivity books to keep her occupied, yet it does not work very well.  Finally, she would sit through the service, listening to the sermon and ask me questions when she does not understand.

Last week, Andrew illustrated his sermon with the Bible story on Paul and Silas praising God when they were in the jail.  Does that sound very familiar to you?  I explained and re-told this story to Elyse.  Tonight as she flipped through the pages in her Bible, she saw two men in a 'cage' (she said).  That picture reminded her of Daddy's story last Sunday.  We were surprised by her attentiveness and are so proud of her.

Well done, little princess!  Well done, Daddy!
