Peer Pressure

One afternoon when we brought Elyse out to the mall...

Elyse:  Mummy, Mummy, I want to buy this!

Mummy:  But you already have colour pencils at home.

Elyse:  I like this, I want to buy this.

Mummy:  No, Elyse.  At home you have two colour pencil boxes.  You don't need this.

Elyse:  But I want to bring this to the school.

Mummy:  Elyse, the school provides the colour pencils for you.  You don't need to bring colour pencils to school.

Elyse:  But my friend has this.  (Pause)  Buy this for my birthday lar, Mummy.

Mummy:  Are you sure?  You want this for your birthday?

Elyse:  Ya, then I can bring this to school.

Looks like even a 4-year-old nowadays also experience peer pressure.
