After reading the Bible with Elyse, she flipped through the pages by herself. Suddenly a picture caught her attention and she said:" Daddy, Daddy (excitedly), this is the story you tell us on Sunday!"
Yes, indeed. Last Sunday, Andrew preached about praising God even during difficult circumstances. Well, many may thought that this is a common topic and there's nothing great to shout about. That's exactly how I felt and what I thought when I helped Andrew with the power point slides. But amazingly, Andrew shared an anointed sermon which touched many lives, including mine! To be honest, I seldom give uplifting comments when it comes to his preaching. Perhaps, my expectation is higher. Perhaps, in the midst of praises, I choose to be the one that give constructive criticism. Well done, dear! Of course, all glory belongs to God!
Back to our darling. I brought Elyse to the 3rd Service after the Sunday School last week. Although she doesn't seem to enjoy sitting through the service and doing nothing, I have told her plainly that, "Just now Mummy went with you to the Sunday School, now you come with me to the adult's service." Unlike other children, Elyse does not seem to enjoy colouring very much. I used to bring for her story books or other acitivity books to keep her occupied, yet it does not work very well. Finally, she would sit through the service, listening to the sermon and ask me questions when she does not understand.
Last week, Andrew illustrated his sermon with the Bible story on Paul and Silas praising God when they were in the jail. Does that sound very familiar to you? I explained and re-told this story to Elyse. Tonight as she flipped through the pages in her Bible, she saw two men in a 'cage' (she said). That picture reminded her of Daddy's story last Sunday. We were surprised by her attentiveness and are so proud of her.
Well done, little princess! Well done, Daddy!

Sports Day 2012
It was a big day for the tiny tots of Wesley Methodist Kindergarten who put on their best show that made their parents and teachers proud. The Bi-annual Sports Day which was held on the 27th April 2012 from 9am to 11:30am.
Since two months ago, children have been practising at the MBS Secondary School field. Elyse was overjoyed whenever she could run in the field rather than sitting in the class. As a result, Elyse is becoming quite tanned.
At last, the Day arrived. We thank God that it was a sunny morning. Excitement filled the air as the children and parents waiting patiently at their tents. All the children were so well groomed in their sports attire - yellow caps, white T-shirts and a yellow track bottoms - it was a sight to watch and admire.
The children were so focused and followed every instructions very well. As the music began, each team marched in and lined up in their designated place. Once the children stood quietly, they began to sing our national anthem 'NegaraKu' and the School's Song. Andrew was invited to say the Opening Prayer, followed by the Welcoming Speech by Mrs Karen Loh, the Chairman of the Kindergarten Committee.
When the children finally got underway after the completion of the 'Warm Up Song', parents, teachers and classmates cheered the young ones to victory.
Altogether there was 13 events, with the last 2 being the Parents Event. Every child participated in at least 2 events. To name a few: Step by Step, Hula Worms, The Perfect Balance, Aim and Throw, Flying Ropes and etc.
The highlight of the event was the Tug Of War, but Elyse's class was not involved.
It was a fun time for the kids and their parents. Flashing lights and clicking sound were all over the place. Parents eagerly captured down those precious moment with the digital cameras, video recorder, handphones and even ipad!
The games and sports lasted about 2 hours. Then came the most interesting moment of the function - the moment of appreciating the winners by awarding them with trophies. This was indeed the ultimate moment of pleasure for all the children when, amidst loud clapping and shouting of cheers, they get their rewards for their hard work - from Mrs Karen Loh.

The day was full of fun, cheers, exciting games, and great exhibition of sportsmanship qualities by young WMK students. A big Thank You to all the teachers, helpers and everyone who has contributed to see this event carried out successfully.

Residence Desa Lagoon Resort, PD
Recently Daddy had an unexpecting 3-days off, so we decided to have a family get-away. Initially we thought of going to Resort World Sentosa, Singapore. Er Yi (Mummy's sister) has a voucher to stay in the hotel for a night FOC. But upon checking Daddy's passport, apparently it has expired since Feb 2011! Aiyoyo... Finally, Mummy decided to go to Port Dickson. Daddy browsed through the web and found this resort - Residence Desa Lagoon Resort. So he made the booking by phone and Mummy started to pack all our clothes, swimming gears and food and we were set to go!
Since it was a schooling day for me (oh, poor me!) Daddy & Mummy waited for me to finish my class, had lunch, then we began our holiday! I was told to take a short nap in the car so that I can play and play and play when we reach PD. It was only a 90-minutes drive from KL to PD.
The resort was quite easy to locate, but since Mummy has read many reviews (both good and bad) in the tripadvisor.com, she requested to view the villa before we check-in. Well, reading the reviews helped to lower our expectation although the pictures in the website are fantastic. We checked in anyway after viewing, Mummy found the villa satisfactory although there are rooms for improvement. Be contented, after all, we only paid for RM200 for a 3-bedroom suite. Normal price is RM380!
Our villa number is 100. It is a double-storey villa - downstair with a living hall, a kitchen, a toilet, a balcony and 2 bedrooms, upstairs with a balcony, a master-bedroom and an attached toilet. Every villa has their designated parking lot. Ours is just right next to our villa, very convenient! And the swimming pool is also close-by. You may jump in anytime!
The resort has a unique concept - it resembles colonial British style or more like those Mediterranean village style. There are 2 swimming pools with only 40 units of villas. Since it was a public holiday, the resort was rather quiet and peaceful. We certainly enjoyed the privacy. The resort also has its own private beach. Only 5-minutes walking distance.
The room service was great! We asked for a baby cot and they delivered it instantly. However, the fridge was a bit rusty on the outside, the TV channels were blur, there is no shower curtains and the bathroom was wet after used, the restaurant was very small and served with overpriced menu. We were given RM35 breakfast voucher but we still needed to top up RM11.90 for the food that we ordered: 2 nasi lemak and 1 mee goreng, with 1 coffee and 1 tea.
Nevertheless, we had a great time chilling ourselves in the swimming pool and building sand castle on the beach. Mummy realised that she is better in kite flying than Daddy! Sadly, there's no photo taken as a proof. Erwyn loves to swim. He is just like me - a water baby. This was his 3rd time in the swimming pool. The 1st time he actually cried and refused to sit in the float. Mummy suspected the water was too cold for him. The 2nd time he was a bit reluctant at first, but soon found himself splashing water while sitting in the float. This 3rd round was the best! Smilling and laughing non-stop. He didn't mind to have water all over his face, too.
It was a short but tiring trip. However, it was an awesome holiday! I hope to come back again soon! Pleasssseee..... Daddy?

One afternoon when we brought Elyse out to the mall...
Elyse: Mummy, Mummy, I want to buy this!
Mummy: But you already have colour pencils at home.
Elyse: I like this, I want to buy this.
Mummy: No, Elyse. At home you have two colour pencil boxes. You don't need this.
Elyse: But I want to bring this to the school.
Mummy: Elyse, the school provides the colour pencils for you. You don't need to bring colour pencils to school.
Elyse: But my friend has this. (Pause) Buy this for my birthday lar, Mummy.
Mummy: Are you sure? You want this for your birthday?
Elyse: Ya, then I can bring this to school.

Bedtime drama
It is bedtime and Daddy is putting Elyse to sleep...
Elyse: Daddy, why you haven't change your sleeping shirt yet?
Daddy: This is my sleeping shirt!
Elyse: No, this is not the one you normally wear.
Daddy: Mummy bought a new sleeping shirt for Daddy.
Elyse: New shirt?! But I like the old one...
Daddy: Why you like the old one?
Elyse: Because I like to pull your shirt.
Daddy: You try to pull this shirt...
Elyse: Ok.
After pulling the shirt....
Elyse: Ok, this shirt is also nice.
