Glad Tidings PJ

Last Sunday I brought Elyse, Erwyn and my mom to Glad Tidings PJ.  Their Baby Room is located at the back of the church, so the parents could get a good view on the stage.  Besides, there are toys provided.  I was hoping while Elyse plays with the toys I could worship and listen to the sermon.

Elyse was very happy the minute she entered the Baby Room.  Our previous visit to GT was almost 2 years ago.  She was too young to remember anything.  There weren't many toys supplied, but enough to keep her occupied for awhile.  She even played chase with one of the kids there.

I enjoyed the worship although I only know 2 out of 5 songs.  Looks like I have lost touch of the contemporary songs nowadays.  I love the dancers.  They played tambourine and chopstick banners.  There were 2 brothers playing the banners during the worship too. Ahh, really missed those days when I was in the dance ministry with Cynthia and the rest in CCC Tmn U.

I found the worship a little bit loud in the Baby Room but when the pastor took over the pulpit, I couldn't hear the announcement clearly.  To my surprise, the preacher of the day was Pam Seaward!  I know this godly woman since young.  She has many amazing testimonies.  However, the noise in the Baby Room was louder than her voice.  How disappointing it was.

Half way through the sermon, Elyse came up to me and said, "I am starving!"  Just recently I taught her this word.  Children are like a sponge.  They just absorb everything you teach them.  How true!  I was surprised to hear that from her.  I burst out laughing.  Although I brought some biscuits for her, she wanted something else to eat.  Because of that, we left the church even before the Service ended.  I brought her to a nearby mall to have lunch.  We shopped around until 3pm.

Elyse likes the church very much.  In fact, she wanted to go back to the church after the lunch but I told her the Service was over by then.  She was a bit upset.  But Mommy promise to bring Elyse back again.  And yes, we will!

Logos Hope

The Logos Hope, one of the largest floating book fairs, docked on Port Klang since end of Sept until Oct 23rd.  We took this opportunity to bring Elyse for an eye-opening experience.

We reached Port Klang Cruise Centre around noon.  It was drizzling.  We were caught in surprise to see so many people on a Wednesday afternoon.  Later we found out that they were from Kingsley International School.  It was very crowded with kids running all over the place.  Nevertheless, we have a great time.

We did not purchase any books though because Elyse did not find any books that she likes.

Mom

It is indeed a blessings to have my mom around for these few weeks.  She was away in Melbourne when I gave birth to Erwyn.  As soon as she returned, she made plans to visit us in TI.

My mom is a hardworking lady.  Her grandmother came from China, a typical traditional woman who forbided ladies to go to school.  Thus, she was forced to quit schooling after 12 years old.  She worked in grandfather's plantation ever since then until she was married to my dad.

After their marriage, my parents ran a sundry shop together.  Mom also took up a few other side jobs while raising all 4 of us up.  I recalled at one time mom took back tones of paper bag and glue them one by one.  Then she started sewing hand gloves and pillows.  After that, she opened a food stall next to the sundry shop, selling breakfast and dinner.  Finally she joined hundreds and thousands of Johorean, day in day out went through the causeway to enter Singapore and worked there.

In recent ten years, she changed her profession to become a confinement lady.  She's pretty good with babies.  Nowadays, whenever Erwyn sees my mom, he smiles broadly at her instantly.  He doesn't really react that way with the rest of us.

Having my mom around at this crucial time is so wonderful.  With my father in law and Andrew in and out of the hospital everyday, my mom is a great help.  And Andrew needs not to worry about his wife and children while juggling between church and parent.  I'm so glad that Elyse also likes to play with my mom although they have some language barrier.  Elyse doesn't understand Mandarin very well and my mom doesn't speak fluent English.

Once again, God has proven His faithfulness and loving kindness to us.  His timing is always perfect.  Thank you Lord!

Nail Polish

Girls are vain, don't you agree?  I am only 3 years old, but I have learned to polish my nail.  Surprise?!!

The first time I came across nail polish was when I visited Er Yi in JB.  She polished my nail for me.

Then when Grandma came over, we brought her out for shopping.  She stopped at one of the shops and tried out their nail polish.  There's where I picked up and began to try out one bottle after another.  Mommy has to stop me and in the end, bought one bottle back for me.

And look, I'm doing it myself!  I also offered to polish Mommy's nail and Grandma's nail oh....  How about you?  FOC, wanna try?

Elyse misses Ah Ma

Ever since Ah Ma was admitted into the hospital, Elyse has been thinking of Ah Ma everyday.  Every now and then, she will say, 'Ah Ma always say....'.

Elyse visits Ah Ma once or twice a week.  But since she saw Ah Ma vomitted in the hospital, she is not very keen to see Ah Ma anymore.  Today, even as we brought her there, she refused to sit closer to Ah Ma.

Elyse misses Ah Ma.  She doesn't want Ah Ma to stay in the hospital.  Ah Ma, please come home quickily.  We are all waiting for your return.

Wedding Reception

Yesterday Mommy brought me to her friend's wedding reception at Oriental Banquet, PJ.  Daddy couldn't make it because he has to attend the District Conference in Ipoh.

I was happy to meet up with Mommy's friends, Aunty Doreen and Aunty Chee Kei.  They came to my house after Mommy has given birth to Erwyn.  But soon they left the table and I persuaded Mommy to walk around the hall to look for them.  Since the dinner has not started yet, we took a stroll around the dining hall.

Then Mommy took out some books for me to read and a puzzle to play.  Finally Mommy told me that the bride and the groom were entering the hall.  All of us stood up and clapped our hands to welcome them.

Then I asked Mommy to dance with me as I heard music playing.  Mommy said she was too shy.  But I continued and all of Mommy's friends were smilling at me.  I think they love my dance.

I brought my Kangaroo bag along with me to the dinner.  And I introduced Kangaroo to Mommy's friends as well.  I talked and talked to Aunty Josephine, Aunty Doreen and Aunty Chee Kei.  All of them said I am very active.  But when the bride tried to come near me, I ran away and hugged Mommy.

I did not eat any dishes at the dinner.  However, Aunty Josephine kept encouraging me to eat the chicken.  Finally I ate one piece and that's all.  Mommy asked me to eat more but I told Mommy, Aunty Josephine only asked me to eat one piece and I listenend.

I also shared my paper doll with Aunty Anya's son, Amos.  Mommy said, 'Amos is a boy, so he plays the prince.  Whereas you are a girl, so you play the princess.  And next time, when Erwyn grows up, both of you can play together also.'  I simply love the idea.  Erwyn, please grow up quickily oh....

We left around 10:15pm although the dinner was not over yet.  I was a bit tired by then.  I finished my bottle of milk - 200ml on our way back home.

I like Aunty Doreen, Aunty Chee Kei and Aunty Josephine.  But I like Aunty Doreen the most.  I told Mommy not to tell them because Aunty Chee Kei and Aunty Josephine would be very sad if they found out.

This evening, when Daddy came back home from TI, I played with Daddy the whole night.  I told Daddy I want to marry him after Daddy rescued me from the monster Daddy.

I think I like wedding.  I also like to be a bride when I grow up next time.
