Elyse is happy to have 'kakak' around. For the past few days, she has been playing with kakak - balls, puzzles, flashing cards and etc. She also allows kakak to wash her after she poo, says 'thank you' to kakak after she wipes her toys, looking everywhere for kakak when she does not see her around. She even requested kakak to change her nappy few days ago when I was trying to do so!
We are glad that she is bonding with kakak. Leaving Andrew and I some personal time to do certain things. On the other hand, both of us are also pampered by her a lot. Except for cooking, kakak does everything for me! From laundry to ironing, from mopping the floor to tidy things up, washing all our dishes after every meal, opening the gate for Andrew when it's time to be back.
We enjoy such a lifestyle. The thought of hiring a maid crossed our mind. But we know that we couldn't affort such lifestyle. After all, Andrew is the only income earner and he's not in his previous profession, but a pastor of a small town church.
Yes, once in awhile we do reminisce our lives when Andrew was an engineer. The luxurious lifestyle we took pleasure in. But we have never regretted for answering the call of God.
In fact, the church has been very gracious to us. They hired a gardener who comes in once a month to cut the grass and tidy up the compound, scrub and wash the drains around the house, cut and trim branches, and wash the cemented area around the house.
And beginning from next month, a cleaner will be coming over once a week to wash all the toilets and bathrooms in the house, mop the floor and wipe the grill doors and windows.
Once again, we thank God for the people around us. God is good, let us shout it loud from the bottom of our heart.
