Cowboy Town

The next day, we visited the Cowboy Town in the evening.

The entrance looked beautiful and was well decorated with Halloween and mid-autumn festival.  However, everything else falls apart as we entered.  The park is rather small with nothing much to see.  Many shops are closed and things are not properly maintained.  It just lacked of a strong gust of cold wind from the desert to create a real cowboy scene.

They charge exhorbitant prices for everything. Every ride needs to be paid separately besides the high entrance fee.

There were only two free highlights for the day:-
8.30 Red Indian Show &
9.15 Carnival show

Both at the same place one after another.

By 8:30pm, we were already seated comfortably waiting for the excitement to roll in. After about 10 minutes, the Carnival Show started with a bang by the Red Indians performing the heady fire-blowing act. These brave warriors were blowing flames from their mouths and also fire-eating.  Though the show was not really impressive to me, bravo to the performers who kept spitting fire and putting out the fire on sticks using their mouth.

Then here comes the ever-draggy carnival that made us wondered when is it going to end - elephants, horses, orangutans, clowns, mascots, dancers, colourful floats and many more.

Before the Carnival Show ends, audience was asked to do a countdown from 5 for the fireworks display. It all lasted for a mere 10 minutes and the whole show ended at about 10:20pm.

Honestly, we were quite disappointed with this Cowboy Town.  Looks like this would definitely be our last time here.

Safari Wonderland

During our trip to Perth, Si Yi Po and Aunt Audrey made a promise to us that they would visit us end of the year.  That's the one thing that we were looking forward to.  Thankfully I am still not very good with the concept of days and months.  Finally one fine day, Daddy and Mommy told me Aunty Audrey and Si Yi Po were on their way to Malacca, Erwyn and I were jumping up and down waiting for their arrival.

Months before they came, Daddy and Mommy went to the Matta Fair at MITC to look for the A Famosa booth.  They were told that they could get discounted tickets.  We have heard from members of the Church that A Famosa is a nice place.  So, this would be the perfect chance for us to save some $$ and to have fun!

One of the reasons I enjoyed Si Yi Po and Aunty Audrey's visit is.... PRESENTS!!!  Thank you so much, Si Yi Po!  Thank you so much, Aunty Audrey!  Of course, I love their company and we get to do so many things together.

Our first destination was the Safari Wonderland.  This is a place where humans are caged and animals are free.

We were caged (in a truck), in order to have a closer look at the tigers during the feeding show by the keepers.  Ehh... where's the tiger?  Sorry, Mommy was too busy carrying Erwyn, no hands left to snap a pic.

Overall, we had a great day at Safari Wonderland.  However, there wasn't much choice of food for the kids.  Thank God that Mommy brought lots of biscuits and bread for the kids.

We would be going to Cowboy Town tomorrow evening since today was quite a tiring day for all of us (after all the walking!!!).  I wondered what awaits us there?!!

Snow White, The Musical

The long awaited musical has finally arrived!

It was really amazing when we received a call from Mrs Chan inviting us to watch the musical at Sunway amphitheatre.  This time, it was 'Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs', an all-time popular fairy tale that has maintained its popularity in the hearts of fans of all ages.  Thank you once again to Mr & Mrs HC Chan!

Only one week ago, we visited Er Yi and she gave me a beautiful snowwhite costume.  She bought it at  Hong Kong Disneyland for Zi Ying 2 years ago.  Zi Ying has grown so much since then, so I officially 'inherited' that costume.  Mommy thought this would be the perfect time for me to dress up like a snow white.  And yes, I did!  No photo posted here though.  We were in a hurry and Mommy did not snap of photo of me. 

Since it was a Tuesday, Daddy and Mommy waited till I came back from kindy and then drove us up to Subang right away.  I did not skip school.  Such a good girl am I! 

It was Christmas season and Sunway Pyramid was fully decorated with Christmas trees and lightings.  This year, their theme is Faerie Dream 2013.

Mommy simply missed all these amazing deco and the carols played as the background music which brighten up the mall.  Christmas - the best time of the year! 

We met Rev Andrew Tan and his wife, Mr & Mrs Chan and other friends at the main entrance of Sunway Pyramid.  Had a presumptuous meal at the hotel before proceeding to the Amphitheatre for the show.

We were not allowed to take any pictures but Mommy found some photos in the web though. 

Much to our surprised, Erwyn likes the magic mirror although it actually looked a bit scary to little kids.  During the break, we saw a number of little girls wearing Snow White costume just like Elyse. 


Personally, Daddy and Mommy like this musical more than the previous two.  We had a great evening and all of us have a good time together.  We reached Malacca closed to midnight and both kids were fast asleep in the car.

Mid Autumn Celebration

Two years ago, I brought Elyse to Summit USJ to attend a Lantern Parade (refer to my blog dated 17th September 2011).  We did not join any of such events since then.  Would love to if there is a chance.  Much to my delight, I found out that the church was planning for a celebration during lantern festival and it was opened to the public.

There was quite a big crowd turned up for the Mid Autumn Celebration.  Paper lanterns were used to decorate the field.  The celebration started with some worshipful choruses, followed by a brother sharing his testimony.  Then the youth took over to play some games with the children.  Finally, dinner was served.

As the sky grew darker, the children took out their lanterns, eagerly anticipating for the highlight of the night - the lantern walk.

This year, I bought the LED lanterns for Elyse and Erwyn.  They chose the design.  It is more convenient than the traditional lantern where you need to light the candle.  For young children, this seems to be a better choice.

The children accompanied by their parents walked from the church, all the way to our house.  Whoever succeeded, they were rewarded with a small gift.  After that, they walked back to the church.  Whereas for Elyse and Erwyn, they did not walk back to the church.  Elyse, however, did walk from church to house.  But not with Erwyn.  Mommy needed to carry him half way through the journey.  Not only that, after the children were settled down at home with their grandpa, Mommy ran back to church to get her car.  Yes, ran back to church.  It was dark and Mommy was all alone.  The crowd has gone ahead of Mommy long long time ago.  And Da Yi (Mommy's eldest sister) was waiting for Mommy in the church.  Daddy was again missing in action.  Hmm... actually Daddy was attending a conference elsewhere. 

Nevertheless, it was a fun experience for the children.  They both enjoyed carry the lantern.  We did it a few more times at our house compound after that.  However, the mosquitoes were the main hindrances for such activity to be continued.  Finally, we did it in the house by switching off all the lights.  Well, the children enjoyed it equally.  Children are always children! 

Gold Coast Morib Resort

It has been awhile since we get away for a family time.  The kids always love to play with water and we thought it would be nice to bring them to a water park.  Finally, Daddy managed to squeeze out a couple of days and brought us all to Gold Coast Morib Resort.  It is located along the splendid seafront of the Straits of Malacca in Kuala Langat.  Mommy bought the resort package from Groupon.

The check-in was a breeze.  We requested for a cot and the management sent it right away.  Fast and efficient!

The Studio Suite has a private jacuzzi which makes the kids so excited. This is just a short warm up session for them before heading to the water theme park.

After taking a stroll at the beach, our tummy were rumbling.  Time for dinner!  Golden Sea Restaurant located just a stone's throw from the resort was where we had our dinner.  The food was not great but that's the nearest chinese restaurant we could find.

The next morning, we headed to the water park.  Our room package inclusive of 2 tickets to the water theme park, which allow us to access the park until the day we check out.  We just have to purchase the ticket for the kids.

The children were having a great time.  Elyse enjoyed all the slides while Erwyn was a bit sceptical.  He doesn't like the splashing especially when the water splash on his face.

Overall, it was a nice getaway.  Poor Daddy has to burn few days midnight oils in order for us to spend some family time together.  The children have since been asking us to go back again.  The only setback for Mommy is: sun = dark skin.  hahaa... Mommy is a real puteri lilin!!!
