Happy Anniversary

Birthright

One afternoon, we were just talking about how precious Elyse was when she was little.  One very good example is the formula milk powder.  As I was also breast feeding Elyse at the time, initially we discard the unused formula milk after four weeks of opening.  Those days, we fed her with Similac, which is quite pricy.  However, Erwyn, as a second child, does not seem to enjoy all these pampering.  Part of the reason is he finished his formula milk long before four weeks' time.  But the pampering refer to other aspects of life.  Erwyn is more independent compared to Elyse.  He likes to do things by himself.  When we go for shopping, he walks around most of the time.  No stroller is needed.

As we were discussing, out of the blue, Elyse shocked all of us with the following statement:
"But I have the birthright!"

Our eyes were wide open and we were speechless, for a second.  That followed by a laughter.  Hmm... I whispered in my heart 'You don't have the birthright, coz you are a girl.'  Of course, I did not said it.  Breaking my little girl's heart is the last thing I want to see.  The day will come... perhaps, when she's older.  A good example of the misused of scripture in a sermon - yup, that's what Daddy has in mind.
