Our new house

2013 - New Year.  New life.  New house.  New challenge.

Front Porch

There are 2 basketball courts next to our house

There are a number of banana trees at our house backyard.  Since moving in, we have harvested a comb of banana.

Mango tree.  We have also harvested 3 mongoes.  They were so sweet!

The front view of our house.  Gigantic trees.  Cool breeze.  The smell of the grass.  The birds chirping.  God's creation is marvelous!  And we are so priviledge to enjoy such beautiful scenery everyday.

Lost but... not found!

Our hamster, Buddy Lim, is lost!!!  While Daddy was away at TRAC Conference; Ah Gong was away in Subang; and we were away in JB & Singapore – our hamster ESCAPED!!!

Sob.  Sob.  Sob.  Ah Gong was the first person discovered it.  He found the hamster cage on the floor (it was on a desk), with no hamster in it.  I did not cry when I heard the news.  Instead, I couldn’t understand why hamster ran away.  Did we ill treat him?  Did we not given him enough food?  Where did he go?  Is he hiding somewhere in the apartment?  Will we be able to find him again?

The sad news is – we lost him, FOREVER!  Even with all the moving, Buddy did not appear anywhere in the apartment.  Perhaps he has found a new home in the church sanctuary?  Or the church office?  Shh… don’t tell the pastor or the church leaders.  Maybe one day during the service, Buddy may show up at the communion table!

The good news is – Daddy bought another 2 hamsters for me!  Hooray!  And now that we have moved to a landed property with a huge compound, and surprisingly a dog cage at the backyard, Daddy is hoping to convince Mommy to rear a puppy.  Will my dream comes true?

The rest of the story... year 2012

December was really a super busy month.  Although Mommy tried to update most if not all the activities in the blog, we still left out some.  And now year 2012 is gone.  To cut the story short (actually Mommy has no time to write), the pictures below will tell you the rest.  After all, people always said, ‘A good picture speaks a thousand words’.

Have fun 'reading' them!

While Daddy was away for the TRAC conference, we headed JB for some fun!  And one of them was none other than 'Legoland'!
Our previous visit to Legoland, Erwyn did not have much fun as he was fast asleep.  But this time, he enjoyed just as much.

As if Legoland was not enough, we visited Universal Studio after almost a year.  The gigantic Christmas tree and its Christmas deco were impressive.

Look how tall is he and how short am I!  Mommy and I spent one whole day in the theme park.  It was crowded but we played till our hearts content.  I even challenged Transformer the 3D ride.  It was a thrilling adventure for both Mommy and I.

A portrait with Madagascar crews.  I have never watched the movie before though.

Never ending fun... The next day we visited Garden by the Bay.

Mommy and my cousin, Zi Ying Jie Jie.  Guess where am I?  Behind the camera lor...

To complete our Singapore 'Never Ending Fun' experience, we visited S.E.A. Aquarium.  It is claimed to be the biggest water tank in the world.

Zi Ying Jie Jie and I at the 'Touch Pool'.

Although Singapore and JB trip was over, the fun continued on.  Mommy found this place 'Farm in the City' at Seri Kembangan and bought the entrance tickets from Groupon.

Erwyn and I took turn to feed this huge turtle.  It is more than 100 years old!

This goat was pretty aggressive when we saw him.  While Erwyn and I were walking around the park, he 'ate' my stroller cushion.

'Feeding' is the main attraction of this park.  We get to feed many animals.

Longkang fishing... how many of you have done it before?  Mommy used to do that when she was young, right next to her house was a big longkang.  But the children nowadays need to 'pay' for them to experience such fun.

Caught any fishy?  NO... the longkang is too deep and my hand is too short.  Argh!

Rabbits... lots and lots of them.  Including guinea pigs also.  They all look hungry!
 Watch out!  Cowgirl is coming!

This pony likes me, doesn't he?
Christmas season.  Many churches have special performance.  This year, we couldn't make it for CHC and DUMC musicals.  But we managed to go for this musical 'The Gift at Christmas' by Calvary.
The storyline was not great but the dancers were excellent!

The nativity scene.

We also watched "Beauty and The Beast' the musical organised by Sunway Group few days ago.  Unfortunately there's no photos taken.  Uncle Chan and Aunty Eunice really treated us like VIPs.  A mouth-watering chinese course dinner followed by a personal couch to the theatre, welcomed with popcorn and bottles of water.  Aunty Eunice even promised to bring me to Sunway Lagoon.

Christmas is incomplete without presents.  This year, we opened our presents earlier due to the moving.

Erwyn and his presents.  Erwyn, do you need some help?

On 28th Dec, we moved to Malacca and begin our new lives here in this historical city.  What would our story be?  If you want to know, follow this blog closely.  As for now, we bid you farewell - KL.

A 'Grace-filled' Year 2012

January
  • Moving into our new 'home' in KL.  It took us awhile to get adjusted, nevertheless we liked it a lot.
  • Elyse started her kindy.  Her first 2 days of kindy was excellent but this did not last for long.  She began to cry thereafter.  Nothing seemed to console her.
  • Attended Farewell Dinner organised by WMC Teluk Intan.  We were so happy to meet up with TI folks.  Only a month away, yet we all missed them.
  • Je Ee flew over from Perth.  We were so glad to have Je Ee around.  Her support and help to my mom in law was beyond words description.
  • Sis and her family visited us in KL.
  • Daddy celebrated his birthday.  We kept it low profile though.

February
  • The passing away of my mom in law.  The Wake and Funeral Services were well attended by many.  We were so touched by the support from relatives and friends.
  • Bi Ee, Bi Ee Ean and Audrey flew over and stayed with us for a couple of weeks.  It was a big reunion to have Je Ee, Bi Ee, Bi Ee Ean and Audrey with us.  The help rendered to us was incredible.  We sure hope to have such reunion in the near future.
  • Mommy injured her ankle.  Hmm... it was not very serious, but it took her almost a month to be healed completely.  Stubbornly, she refused to sit down and rest.  But how to do so when there are tones of household chores to do?

March
  • The sick bug has invaded the Lim Family.  Elyse was ill after almost a year of good health, followed by Shally, Ah Gong, Audrey and the little one - Erwyn.  Poor Erwyn, this was his first time falling sick.  He was ok when we fed him the medicine the first few rounds, but soon fighting his way back when he realised what was happening.
  • Mommy drove to Malacca all by herself for the very first time.  It was a time-out for her to be alone without the kids.  She certainly enjoyed the fellowship with her old-time friends, nevertheless her mind was constantly on her children.
  • Let's go to the Zoo!  Elyse loves the fun but it was very tiring for all of us.
  • Mommy brought the children back to JB.  Driving long journey with kids was very challenging but she made it!  Mom was with her though.  We stayed in Resort World Sentosa for a couple of days.

April
  • Elyse's Kindergarten Sport's Day.  Elyse totally enjoyed all the fun!  She was also the captain of her class.

May
  • Erwyn is finally one-year-old!  We celebrated Erwyn's birthday together with Ah Gong and Poh Poh.
  • We went to Port Dickson for a short family-get-together.  Enjoyed the sun, beach, sand and the swimming pool.

June
  • Mommy was invited to conduct the VCS for TMC PJ.
  • Joined Sis in Genting for 3 days 2 nights.  Never ending fun as we played in the theme park for hours!

July
  • Watched the musical 'High School Musical' at Sunway Lagoon.  Loving it!
  • Moving again - 2nd time in a year!  But this time, to a BIGGER apartment!

August
  • Daddy was invited to be the Spiritual Adviser for a Turkey trip.  What a wonderful experience!

September
  • Audrey was here to celebrate Elyse's birthday.  Little princess is now four-year-old.
  • After months of practising, finally it was Elyse's Kindergarten Concert.  Elyse received a 3rd prize in the colouring contest.
  • Junior Sunday School organised a Family Outing in Lake Gardens.  Elyse and Mommy had fun in the sun!

October
  • A peaceful and quiet month.

November
  • JB here we come!  Together with Sis and her family, we visited Legoland and Hello Kitty Town in JB.  We also joined Er Yi in visiting the historical city of Malacca.
  • Celebrating Mommy's birthday.  But since this year it falls on a Sunday, which is the bussiest day for Daddy.  Ah Gong, instead of Daddy, bought a cake for Mommy.  We had a mini celebration at home.

December
  • We visited JB again!  Paid another visit to Legoland.  Elyse even tried the children roller coaster.  Bravo!  We also went to Universal Studio, Garden by the Bay and Underwater World in Sentosa.
  • Oh no, we lost our hamster 'Buddy'!!!
  • Erwyn is finally walking!  Way to go, boy...
  • Yeah, Daddy bought two more hamsters for Elyse as her Christmas gift!
  • Watched 'The Beauty and the Beast' musical.  Awesome!
  • Visited 'Farm in the City' - a small petting zoo.  Both Elyse and Erwyn had a unforgettable experience as they fed the birds, tortuise, rabbits and fish.
  • Farewell Dinner for Daddy.  Farewell Petaling Street; Hello Jonker Street!
  • Packing, packing, packing... we are all ready to move to Malacca and begin a new chapter of our lives there!

Thank you, God, for bringing us through yet another year.  We experience your grace and your love once more.  Without failed, You enveloped us with your loving kindness as we went through a period of mourning in the beginning of the year.  We are also marveled at the favor of God upon our lives.  It has only been a year in KL Wesley, but the blessings showered toward us from the body of Christ is unbelieveable.  We entered KL Wesley in fullness, we left with abundance.  We also thank you God for our beautiful children.  Their very presence make our lives fulfilled.  We are honored to serve them.  'Thank you' in itself, doesn't seem to be able to express how grateful we are to you.  Lord, we love you!
