"Mummy, when I grow up, will I be like you?"
Very often, we hear this from our little girl. It is amazing that how Elyse would want to be like me. I am her role model! Actually, this sounds very pressurising.
Indeed, as parents, we are setting an example for our children to follow. In many ways, Elyse does look like me. Not her look, but her temperament. Sometimes I have to remind myself that this is also how I behave and I should change to be more Christlike.
As children of God, we too, should have such desire to imitate God. Just like Elyse wanting to be like her mother. Question is: Do we seek to be transformed and changed to be more and more like Jesus? Are we doing something about that?
